Government agreed to proposal of Gazprom - money instead of raw material

Georgia has signed a 2-year agreement with Gazprom, - stated Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze . The Minister explained that during the first year, Georgia will receive partly gas and partly a certain amount of money for gas transit.

Since 2018, the country will receive only financial remuneration for gas transit.

The minister did not specify what other issues they agreed on , he had only explained thatthe transit price paid to Georgia will be one of the highest ones among the European countries,’ he said.

According to Kaladze, Georgia will receive 215 USD instead of 185.
It is unknown when the contract will be signed by the Georgian government and Gazprom.
