		Former education officials sent to pre-trial custody 02.09.10 18:03 Former officials of the Georgian Education Ministry have been sent to two-month pre-trial custody. The court trial for Davit Mamardashvili and Zviad Kikvadze was held at Tbilisi City Court on Thursday.

Education Minister Dimitri Shashkini hosted English language teachers, who came to Georgia from various countries in the frames of the program Teach and Learn with Georgia. The minister introduced the details of the governmental program, according to which the level of knowledge in Georgian students should improve.  

Process of textbook distribution to vulnerable children begins

The process of distributing text-books to vulnerable schoolchildren has been started. First, the text-books will be sent to Imereti, Samegrelo and Svaneti regions. MONUSCO workers rescued from the woods of eastern Congo

Six aid workers of the U.N. peacekeeping mission MONUSCO have been safely rescued from the wood of the Eastern Congo. Congolese rebels attacked them on Monday and forced them to flee in the bushes.

A message of the internally displaced people in Georgia will be sent to the UN headquarters soon. The letter, which is rolled as in old times, has toured all regions of Georgia where the IDPs reside and over 5000 people have signed it. 

Russian delegation arrives in Tskhinvali

Fire extinguished in Racha

Fire fighters, rescuers and local population have finally extinguished fire in the Notsara forest, Racha Region. Fire broke out there three days ago and since then the fire brigades and locals have been fighting the disaster, which has burnt down seven hectares of area.
