Georgian Prime Minister resigned

Georgian Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili has resigned. He made a statement at a special press conference in the state chancellery today. He named deterioration of his health condition and necessity of intensive treatment as the main reason of the resignation.
Grigol Mgaloblishvili said, doctors have concluded that he needs to continue intensive treatment for two more months. "Georgia can not afford the luxury of the prime minister being in not proper working regime. Prime Minister and government`s 24-hour working is needed today", Mgaloblishvili said.
He also pointed out that he cannot afford himself that the government work improperly due to his health condition. Mgaloblishvili expressed concern that deterioration of his health condition has coincided with the most important stage of his life, when the president as well as the government of Georgia has declared the biggest confidence to him.
Mgaloblishvili said, after finishing the treatment he is ready to serve the country on any position. "In any capacity I will stay in Georgian state and people`s service. We will do everything, with the president and our friends, to accomplish the plans we have aimed together", he said.
Grigol Mgaloblishvili added, he has suggested the Finance Minister, first Vice-premier Nika Gilauri`s candidate for the future PM to the president. Georgian president will hold a government session at 8 p.m. today, where he will reportedly name the new Prime Minister.
